Here is a very heartwarming story as we heal from the devastation of the LA fires. One that shows the power of teamwork and the importance of us all doing what we can to work together to help animals during overwhelming times.
This is the story of Ridges and Ruffles… two bonded brothers who were left during the LA fires… the amazing Claudine Book was told about the kitties from a neighbor and a fireman in the area. After a long time searching, she and her friends were able to locate Ruffles, but not Ridges. After lots of patience and kindness, they were able to get Ruffles safely out of the fire area where he was left behind.
However, they couldn’t find Ridges, so they had to set a trap and hope for the best. Thank God it worked, because upon finding him he was badly burned from the fires and needed immediate vet care. He was rushed to the vet for days of treatment while his brother went to a loving foster Ava Quin.
While out in the field, Claudine met our friend Amanda Starrantino and shared her need for help with getting Ridges from the vet in Santa Monica to be reunited with his brother and foster in Malibu. We immediately jumped to help and thankfully our amazing volunteer Alex Prange was able to pick him up the next day and take him to his new family.
Ruffles and Ridges are now both safe, loved, and healing. And we are so thankful for every single person that played a role in this successful rescue mission. Thank you for saving them, Claudine Book – for giving them a home Ava Quin – to Frost Fund and Alex Prange for transporting post vet, and to all the people who were part of this. Teamwork is CRUCIAL and we can all play our parts!! Cheers to you, Ruffles and Ridges️.
