Red List Rescue Announcement

Hello Frost Fund friends and family!

In case you did not know, one of the ways Frost Fund helps shelter animals is through Red List Rescue advocacy campaigns. Animals who are red listed at shelters have a set euthanasia date if they are not adopted or fostered by that time.

Until more adoptions, less breeding, and neutering/spaying take place, unfortunately shelters will continue to struggle with overwhelming intake numbers. As a result, many must make the incredibly hard decision to create room for incoming animals by euthanizing those who are considered long stays, old, problematic, or who have been returned by previous adopters.

By the grace of God, every dog Frost Fund has started a Red List Rescue campaign for has been adopted or fostered just in time. Some, like Bill, literally within hours before their euthanasia date. While this is by far one of the most mentally, emotionally, and physically demanding efforts we undertake, it is truly worth it when their lives are saved. There is no better feeling.

You can view all incredible rescue successes by clicking here.

However, we are now beginning a Red List Rescue campaign for a sweet 1.5 year old German shepherd named, Snickerdoodle. She is currently at the Long Beach Animal Care Shelter and must be adopted or fostered by July 14th, 2023 – or she will be euthanized.

Every single red listed dog that we have successfully advocated for has come as a result of individuals choosing to share the animal’s story to their social media platforms, by text/email, and even through word of mouth. It truly is a team effort. Which is where you come in!!

We need your help to advocate for sweet Snickerdoodle and to make her known to the right adopter before July 14th, 2023.

Please click here to view Snickerdoodle’s story and to share with friends, family, and within your networks. You never know who sees your share and might just feel called to save her life. You can share the website link or visit @brittneirae and @frost_fund on Instagram to share Snicker’s directly.

In the future, you can also visit the “Current Rescue Mission” page in the Advocacy section of the Frost Fund website to stay updated on Red List Rescue campaigns.

Thank you for your support in helping to share Snickerdoodle’s story. You just might be the one to save her life.

We will keep you updated on her Red List Rescue progress.
