RESCUE STORIES & VIDEOS
Monty
Monty is a beautiful 11 month old pup who had been in the Long Beach Shelter for 200+ days. The director reached out to us asking for help in finding him a home as he was entering the Red List. We made a plan to have Monty join our Harley Project program and he is now safe and being trained with our partner trainer for eventual adoption!

Beans
Beans is a beautiful Belgian Mal who was in the Downey animal shelter with just 24 hours before euthanasia. Our friend in AZ at Paragon Animal Services reached out for our help to pull Beans from the shelter so that he could have a chance at life and work. We are so grateful we could assist in Bean’s freedom day and forever life.
Magpie
Mapgie was in and out of the shelter for over 150 days before shelter staff reached out to us for help. This sweet girl was found as a stray roaming the streets of Long Beach. She has the sweetest personality, but just needed a family to invest in some training to help her build confidence and overcome her past. We are so thankful we were able to help her find just that after many days of advocating.

Milo
Milo is the most handsome German Shep mix who had been at the shelter for over 3 months after being found wandering the streets of Long Beach. He was adopted by a family who not long after decided to return him to the shelter, at no fault of his own. We are so thankful we were able to help him find an adopter and get away from the threat of euthanasia.
Patriot
This sweet 2 year old German Shep had the kindest hard and the softest spirit. After seeing him in the shelter since June of this year (over 4 months by the time we helped him find a home), my heart broke seeing his spirit decline. We are so thankful we were able to advocate for him, bring him to Chapman University for an educational presentation, and eventually take the right steps that would lead to his advocacy resulting in adoption!

Duke
Duke – despite being in such horrible conditions at the Lancaster shelter – could not have been a happier, kinder, or sweeter soul. He is proof that light always shines in the darkness & it is worth fighting for. His resilience and love for life – despite being days away from euthanasia – should remind us all these animals need our help. Watch his unique story below!
Lightning
Lightning is the most handsome and talented 9 month old Dutch Malinois who was red listed at the Long Beach Shelter. After being found wandering the streets, he was taken into the shelter where he since spent over 40 days waiting for a forever home. Once I met Lightning, I knew this boy was meant for training and work! Watch his story to see just how and where he has ended up and the lives he is now going to change.
Cheers to you, Lightning!

Harley
Harley is a handsome three year old German Shep who entered the shelter in November of 2023 when his owners were arrested and put in jail. His red list rescue story is incredibly unique and dynamic. Involving multiple organizations and ultimately a lot of dead ends. That is until, Frost Fund was able to connect with our amazing partner K9 trainer to come up with a plan for successfully saving the life of sweet Harley!
This is a rescue story you don’t want to miss. Make sure to give it a quick view by clicking the link below. We are so grateful that Harley was ultimately able to be adopted and his future is incredibly bright!
Hailee
Hailee is an incredible 6 year old German Shephard who had been at the shelter for over 6 months after being found running along the 710 freeway. This sweet girl has the best personality and we think was abused in her past as she was specifically timid around men. However, after a 10 day red list rescue campaign and a lot of ups and downs – we found her perfect adopter!
After almost transporting her to an adopter in New Jersey, a man named Chris from a more local city flew in to meet her (literally) and the rest was history! Frost Fund was also featured on Fox 11 news for our rescue with Hailee, twice!

Otto
Otto is a sweet 6 year old lab/pittie/terrier mix who had been at the shelter for over 125 days after coming in as a start in November of 2023. He is such a handsome boy who knows many commands and does incredibly well with other people and dogs! Despite being such a catch, he was overlooked month after month at the shelter.
Eventually, Otto began to increase in his stress levels and the shelter had to make the decision to initiate a red list status for him. We had just 7 days to find him an adopter or foster before his euthanasia date. And by God’s grace and faithfulness, we found both!! Enjoy watching his story below.
Buddy
Buddy is a sweet young pit-terrier mix who had been at the shelter for over 110 days. He was found tied to a pole outside of a department store in Cerritos, CA with no owner in site (or to claim him later on).
Ever since, Buddy has waited for his perfect family to come along, but was eventually placed on the urgent list at the shelter. This means that if he was not adopted or fostered soon, unfortunately he could face euthanasia.
We sprung into action and with the help of the Frost Fund Red List Rescue team, were able to find him adopter after a long and relentless 13 days of advocacy. He is the most gentle and kind boy and we are so happy for his happy ending. Watch his story below!

Mako
Mako is one of the sweetest Belgian Mal we have ever had the joy of rescuing. With just 6 days before euthanasia, we were able to find her the perfect adopting family.
However, it took 10 long days of posting, praying, connecting, and patiently waiting for the right family to come along.
Mako is incredibly smart and despite deteriorating quickly under shelter stress, he never once failed to enjoy any he was given in the play yard with other people and dogs. He was taken in as a stray and truly, is now the most amazing addition to a happy family.
Watch his rescue video below for more adorable and heart-warming details.
Raven
Raven is one of the most beautiful German Shephard mixes we have seen! She was just 2 years old and set for euthanasia after spending over 130 days in the Long Beach shelter.
Frost Fund started a 2 week Red List Rescue advocacy campaign and after visits from 3 different families, we finally found her perfect adopters! However, they were over 350 miles away in Vegas! So, with the support of the Red List Rescue team, we were able to raise $950.00 to host our first ever rescue transport!
You will have to watch the video below to see how it all played out.

Snickerdoodle
Snickerdoodle is a young German Shephard who was brought into the shelter after being found as a stray in Corona. She was quickly adopted only to be purposefully let out by her owners to become a stray once again.
After reentering the shelter, she was soon placed on the red list with just 14 days until euthanasia. This sweet girl had a very interesting rescue story once Frost Fund got involved. One with quite a few twists and turns that you will have to watch her video below to learn more about!
She is now living her best life with a new family who couldn’t love and adore her more. Thanks to the work of the Red List Rescue team!
Benedict
Benedict is a sweet special pup who had been in a shelter for over a year! Despite being deaf, he learned to understand hand commands, loves all people, and is one of the happiest boys you will ever meet.
Unfortunately, he was never shown interest by visitors to the shelter and was soon nearing the possibility of being placed on the Red List. We stepped in along with many other activists and shelter volunteers to help find the perfect family for him.
After a 2 month long campaign from April – June of 2023, an amazing adopter finally stepped up and saved Benedict’s life. Now, he is living safe, happily, and loved in a new home for the first time in over 365 days.

Addison
Addison’s story is not unlike many other animals who end up in shelters. At two years old, she was surrendered by previous adopters who could not properly take care of her. After just two weeks of taking her from the shelter – they decided to return her.
Having been returned and improperly labeled, Addison was red listed and had 5 days before euthanasia. The shelter asked me to advocate for her rescue and I immediately reached out to my friends at the Rescue 22 Foundation.
I was invited to bring Addison in for a training assessment to see if she showed potential for training as a service dog. Not knowing what would happen, I picked her up and drove 2.5 hours to try and help save her life. The rest you will just have to watch in the below rescue video!
Mr. Robinson
Mr. Robinson is a very special dog who had been at the Long Beach Animal Care Shelter for 8 months. Despite being well behaved, loving cuddles, and getting along wonderfully with other dogs – he was always overlooked. After weeks of advocating and sharing his story, it seemed as if finding an adopter was going to be nearly impossible.
During his Red List Rescue advocacy mission, the team was also advocating for the rescue of Addison and Panda. It was at the end of 3 weeks of advocacy (once Panda and Addison had been saved) that I was thankfully able to get Mr. Robinson an extension on his euthanasia date.
Not long after, I received a call from the shelter that someone who had seen his urgent posting jumped into action and came to adopt Mr. Robinson! Another life saved just days before euthanasia.
Proving that every extra day added can be the one that makes a difference.

Panda
Panda is a sweet dog who had been at the shelter for over a year! Unfortunately, Panda’s previous owners decided they did not want her and surrendered her to the shelter.
After several weeks of Red List Rescue advocacy, the outcome was not looking so good for Panda’s rescue. Despite three different people showing interest in Panda, for one reason or another things were just not working out in her favor.
But by the grace of God, with just 5 hours left before euthanasia, we were able to find a foster and a rescue to save Panda’s life. I met the foster at the shelter for the meet and greet and to pray everything would go well. Thankfully, it did!
However, this was one of the most grueling rescue missions so far and unfortunately I believe it had to do with Panda’s breed. It is a sad reality that pit bulls and pit-mixes are generally looked over in shelters. I am so thankful that with dedication, faith, and continual advocacy – we were able to save Panda!
Apollo
Apollo was found as a stray and taken to the Long Beach Animal Care shelter. After almost 3 months of no adopter or foster showing interest – Apollo was about to be placed on the red list.
It is incredibly painful to think of a one year old dog like Apollo having his life cut extremely short under such unfair circumstance. So, the Red List Rescue team jumped into action and we were able to find him an adopter in just 2 days. The adopters immediately fell in love and so did Apollo with their other German Shephard.
Proving that when everyone does the little they can – lives can change forever.

Frank
Frank’s story starts in Idaho where he was adopted from a shelter by a loving owner. However, when his adopter suddenly had a health emergency – Frank had to be given up once again.
After spending almost 3 months in a kennel, Frank’s owner reached out to me to help him find a forever home or foster. He is such a good boy and no one wanted to see him end up back in an overcrowded shelter. Thankfully, within a week of the Red List Rescue sharing – a foster and rescue (Passion 4 Pitties) stepped up!
Tapas
Tapas was brought to my attention by an amazing advocate named, Roberta. Upon learning about Tapas, he had just a week left before his euthanasia date.
We sprung into action and started networking Tapas as quickly and efficiently as possible. This effort earned him an extension on his euthanasia date giving us more time to fight for his life.
Eventually, A wonderful foster named Jacely stepped up along with Woof Project Rescue to pull him from the shelter just in time. I was there to be a part of his freedom day process and wow – was that incredible!

Bill
Bill’s story was shared with Frost Fund just 24 hours before his set euthanasia date. Immediately, the Red List Rescue team went to work advocating for him despite the odds stacked against him.
And with just 4 hours left – we were able to find him an incredible new adopting family. A member of the Red List Rescue team picked him up from the shelter and kept him overnight before transporting him to his new family in the morning.
Bills is a handsome 4 year old black lab who absolutely loves people. We are so glad this hr was able to make it off the red list.
Marvin
Saved from euthenasia in November of 2022 after a 3 week long social media rescue effort by the Red List Rescue team. Marvin now lives out his life with new friends at Frosted Faces Rescue. He is still up for adoption or fostering, but is off the red list and safe with a loving rescue until then!
More on his rescue story to come.

Bramble
Saved from euthenasia in April of 2022 after a 5 week long social media rescue effort by the Red List Rescue team. Bramble now lives out his life comfortably, safely, and happily in Hartville, Wyoming. He was rescued by Kindness Ranch Animal Sanctuary and is now training to be a K9 officer.
