Monty: German Shep Mix

Monty was rescued by Frost Fund in January 2025 after spending more than 250 days in the shelter system. His story came to us through the Director of Long Beach Animal Care Shelter, who reached out in a last effort to save Monty from the red list and potential euthanasia.

We knew we had to act fast—and we did. Monty quickly became our 2025 “Harley Project” dog, a special initiative dedicated to giving overlooked shelter dogs a second chance through intensive care, training, and advocacy.

Harley: German Shep, adopted 3/10/25

Harley was rescued by Frost Fund in July 2024 after spending over 270 days at the Long Beach Animal Care Shelter. He ended up there after both of his previous owners were arrested and incarcerated, leaving him with nowhere to go.

As time passed, Harley began to suffer from severe shelter-induced stress and was eventually placed on the shelter’s red list—a heartbreaking label for dogs at risk of euthanasia. That’s when Frost Fund stepped in, determined to give him the second chance he so deeply deserved.

Today, after months of love, care, and expert training, Harley is thriving and ready to find his forever home!

We’ve documented his transformation every step of the way—check out his story on our Instagram (@frost_fund) or YouTube for a behind-the-scenes look at his incredible progress.
