Silverado Has Been in the Shelter for Over a Year! Let’s Find Him a Home

This week’s Frost Fund Fridays for Furever Homes with Brittnei and Alex Prange is all about Silverado! This boy has been waiting long enough.

Silverado has spent over a year in the Long Beach Animal Care Shelter. That’s 365 days of overlooked potential, 365 nights without a cozy bed or the simple peace of a home. This 4-year-old Siberian Husky is neutered, has the most beautiful eyes, and has the gentlest heart — and he’s so ready for his second chance.

Despite the shelter chaos, Silverado stays mellow and sweet. He’s curious, loves to sniff around, and will lie down for a long brush session. Ashley, one of the amazing volunteers, told us, “He’s a sweetheart. He gives me the belly.”

Silverado is smart, calm, and easygoing, but still has that husky energy that makes him a perfect match for someone with an active lifestyle. He gets along great with other dogs and would thrive with time, structure, and someone willing to train and commit. He doesn’t ask for much — just a real shot at a life beyond the kennel.

Even a foster home would change everything for him. A quiet place to decompress. Room to be himself. And a chance to open up space at the shelter for another dog in need.

Please take a second to share this post, tell a husky lover, or better yet — come meet Silverado at Long Beach Animal Care Shelter and feel his calm sweetness for yourself.

If you adopt or foster Silverado after seeing this post, message @frost_fund on Instagram— we’ll help set you up with discounted sessions from one of our partner trainers, and we’ll help coordinate transport if needed. Let’s give this incredible boy the home he deserves.

We love you, Silverado. Your forever is out there.
