Everyone – this is Nova – Frost Fund’s 25th Red List Rescue’s story!! This life saving effort would not be possible without those of you who took the time to share her rescue reel, comment on it, tag friends, pray, and help us network her to get all eyes on as possible.
PLEASE NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE GOOD SOCIAL MEDIA CAN DO WHEN WE USE IT FOR SUCH. AND HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO THESE RED LIST RESCUE MISSIONS.
After over 100 days in the shelter and with time running out, we were able to find an adopter for Nova to save her life. However, none of this would have happened without all of us sharing, caring, and doing what we could with within our networks to help raise awareness for her urgent adoption need.
And a huge shoutout to Amanda Salas for featuring our mission for her on Fox LA- which ultimately lead to her successful adoption.
Like Nova, there are thousands of dogs and cats in shelters across the country – many in California – that are facing red list status and in urgent need of adoption. Please, when you can – adopt and foster. It literally saves lives.
We are so thankful to Cheryl Ferramola for fostering Nova temporarily to buy her more time while Frost Fund went to work searching for an adopter. And to the Long Beach Animal Care Center for being so incredible in their patience, kindness, and efforts towards all the animals in their care – including Nova. And to Ashley Kuckler, Mary Jo Smith, Zoey, and Ryan from Dodge College at Chapman University or documenting this journey. I can’t wait to see and share the feature to educate more about what animals in CA are facing.
As a reminder, this is not always the shelters faults – it is the public’s for not being more proactive in understanding and assisting in the shelter crisis, adopting, spaying/neutering, and making sure we go to shelters for new forever family members.
Cheers to you, Nova. We love you. And are so thankful to everyone for all your help in saving your life.
