Meet Beans: Our 24th Red List Rescue! This past January, while managing a fire rescue, Paragon Service Group contacted Frost Fund with an urgent request: could we help get Beans out of the shelter and into care with just 24 hours left before he faced euthanasia? Though we were in the midst of fire emergency response, we reached out to one of our amazing supporters, Martina, to see if she could step in and help by picking up Beans from the Downey Animal Care Center at the last minute.
Thankfully, Martina was able to assist and went above and beyond by securing a hotel room at Hotel Maya for Beans and his adopter to stay overnight. As they hit the road from AZ immediately when Frost Fund and Martina were able to assist. After being in an overcrowded shelter for a long time, this was Beans’ first chance to rest in a safe, comfortable place before heading home to Arizona!
Beans is now undergoing training to become a veteran service dog with Knight Watch K-9 and Paragon Service Group. This story is a perfect example of how collaboration makes a real difference. Each and every one of us plays a crucial role in this life-saving work. Here’s to you, Beans—our 24th Red List Rescue pup!
