Monty, our first Harley project pup, has officially been out of the shelter for over one month!!
After being in the shelter for over 250 days Monty has been decompressing and settling into a routine with our partner trainer Andrew. Together, they have been working on some basic training commands such as: Sit, Down, Heel, and recalling his name. It’s incredible to see his progress as he learns the rhythm of a new routine and a fresh start. We’re giving him space to adjust, step by step, as he builds his confidence and gets stronger every day.
Monty is very playful and affectionate — he absolutely loves being with his people. Though he can be a bit shy at times and can be frightened by new things, his love for a good game of fetch is contagious. He has been learning how to bring the ball back to keep the game going, and seeing his enthusiasm and those happy little hops of his warms our hearts.
Andrew shared the following statement with us: “Each day, we allow him to feel happy and successful in each training session and play outing. It’s all about taking it one step at a time, climbing the ladder towards his goals, and giving him the best possible chance at a bright future. He’s so ready for it, and we can’t wait to see how far he’ll go.”
STAY TUNED for more updates to come and if you are interested in potentially adopting this guy after months of training – or know someone who might be – follow along his journey!
Here’s to Monty, our brave little fighter with so much joy to give.
