Taken from Instagram post on 2/1/25: We were contacted by the Long Beach Animal Care Shelter regarding sweet 1.5 year old Monty after almost 7 months of him waiting in the shelter for his forever home. Like any animal in a kennel for this long, this amount of time can begin to feel overwhelming and was causing Monty to exhibit signs of shelter stress.
While Frost Fund normally operates on a Red List Rescue basis (as we are not a foster based organization), we came up with a special plan to help this handsome and sweet guy out!
Last year, with the incredible generosity of our partner trainer, Andrew, we saved another pup named Harley after over 250 days in the same shelter.
We did this by pulling Harley and taking him to Andrew in Yuma, AZ. Andrew is a dog trainer with the biggest heart for helping. Just like Harley, our goal is to now have Monty decompress and receive basic training with Andrew. so that he can eventually be adopted into an incredible home!
Thus, the Harley Project was born!
What does this mean: Frost Fund is supporting Andrew on a donation basis to partner with us in this life-saving work – so please know your financial donations help literally to save lives. (Venmo: @frost_fund or Zelle/paypal: teamfrostfund@gmail.com if you want to help us make this work possible!)
Before heading to Andrew, Monty was fostered by Cheryl Ferramola from the Long Beach Animal Care Shelter before hitting the road with a sweet volunteer driver to Yuma. While with Cheryl, she spoiled him with dog friendly treats, bath time, and plenty of love from her own pups!
We are excited to see how the months ahead shape Monty and allow him to find the best home. Andrew will be giving us updates throughout each month! So, if you are interested in potentially adopting this guy after months of training – or know someone who might be – follow along for his journey to come!
For now, Frost Fund is just happy to see him outside of the shelter and thriving as all animals should be. And we can’t thank Andrew enough for being the human he is.
