Frost Fund is dedicated to improving and saving the lives of as many animals as we possibly can. The way we do this can come in many forms, from donating much needed items to animal sanctuaries, providing financial support to conservation organizations, and even saving animals from euthanasia by assisting in facilitating the placement of new homes. This last method is what Frost Fund has been focused on most recently, and we need your help to keep making it happen.
Frost Fund’s Red List Rescue has been a highlight recently on our social media as well as our blog, as we are focused on providing as many animals as we can with loving homes so that they avoid euthanasia. However, some rescues are more complex than others. In our history, we have had multiple instances where the adopting family of these shelter animals have been located far from the shelter where the animal is being held. Thankfully, we have always been able to find a way to get these animals united with their new family. That being said, when long distance transport is a factor there is much more uncertainty as to whether or not we can complete the rescue if the means to transport are not secure. That is where you, our supporters, come in.
We want to save as many animals as often and as consistently as possible, while having a smooth and reliable system. One of our main goals that would help us tremendously is to have a dedicated transport vehicle that we can use whenever needed to deliver animals safely to their new homes. In the past we have been very fortunate in finding people and vehicles willing to collaborate with us to complete the rescue, but we cannot be sure this will always be the case. With a transport vehicle of our own we can guarantee we will confidently have the means to save the animals we advocate for.
A perfect example of this is our transport of shelter cats from an overcrowded shelter in Riverside, CA to a shelter with much more space and a higher adoption rate in Boulder, CO. Prior to this transport, all of these cats were possible candidates for euthanasia. Thankfully, Frost Fund was able to partner with a supporter and transport these cats to Colorado. Due to this successful transport these cats have been adopted in Colorado and are living happily in their new homes. This particular mission, while successful, could very easily not have been. If we hadn’t been able to find a driver and the shelter in Boulder hadn’t been so willing to accommodate the complications associated with this transport and help meet us in the middle, these amazing animals might not have been so lucky. This is something that Frost Fund does not want to leave up to chance in the future.
Frost Fund will always do everything we can with all the resources we have available to us, but we depend on our supporters to provide us with those resources. When you donate to Frost Fund you are directly enabling us to save more lives and provide more amazing animals with new homes. Will you support us in our goal to be able to consistently save more Red List Rescues, more often, in more circumstances? We are so thankful for all the support we have gotten over this past year, and we hope with your continued support we will be able to expand our mission to even greater lengths. Currently, we only have one small monthly donor. We are hoping someone reading this will feel called to step up as a monthly donor as we strive to grow! Thank you!
